The Proposal

On October 2, 2010 and Kenny and I were invited to go to Mike's Tree Farm with a large group of people from church. My sister, Kassi, was visting from south Dakota and her two boys, and we were going to pick pumpkins with the kids and eat dinner. My mom was babysitting two more kids, so we had 4 kids under 2 1/2.  We definitely had our hands full!
 I decided I wanted to go back to the car to get the stroller for one of the kids, I asked Kenny to go with me and after getting the stroller he said "lets walk over here" (behind some old tractors). I figured it was just a moment to be alone (which is rare when there are so many kids around!). Kenny asked if I was okay, I replied  "yeah, just tired."  Then he asked me if I would be happier, if he asked me to marry him, I (of course) answered with a slightly hesitant "yes" (What exactly did that question mean? We had been talking about when we got married for a while, so I didn't know if this was just another "when we get married" talk, or a proposal?) then he asked "What if I gave you a ring?" answered with another slightly hesitant yes (Was he proposing?!)  
Then he sealed the deal and answered every question running through my mind,  he got down on one knee and said "I don't want another moment to go by without you as my future wife, will you marry me?"  "YES!!!!!" Then he gave me the most beautiful ring EVER.    After spending a few minutes composing myself, we went and found our family and friends. And that, my friends, is how it happened :-)

Ten on Tuesday {ToT}

Okay so I am taking after my sister and going to do a Ten on Tuesday post. Its about the wedding and me...

1. I passed my Praxis test!!!!! I made a 314 when I needed to score a 313. It is an amazing feeling to have finally passed it. I double checked the scores to make sure I was reading it right (because last time I didn't)! I am now a licensed teacher in the state of NC.

2. I really need a job. I really want a job. I know God has the perfect on for me...just praying His timing is soon. I love teaching and I miss the children.

3. Save the dates are ordered!!! Waiting on those to come in the mail so we can address them and send them out...they are SO cute. I love them!

4. I had graduation on Saturday. That, my friend, is a GREAT feeling. As I walked up I just had a sense of accomplishment and I can only thank God for giving me the motivation to keep going when I couldn't go any more. I also have my parents, Kenny and my family to thank for the support they have given me. THANK YOU GUYS

We are only missing my bestest friend, my favorite sister and her beautiful family...I love you Kassi



5. Christmas is coming! I have not done ANY Christmas shopping. I think I might start today.

7. So I am in the process of find the best place to purchase the bridesmaids dresses. The store I was going to use does not included alterations in the cost (they will cap it at $50). With the service I received when I went in there the time before last...I don't mind going somewhere else. I just can't find who sells them. 

8. I have found my dress! It gorgeous and that's all I can say.

9. WEDDING COLORS ARE (drum roll please...) Navy blue, a really pretty bright sage green, orange, and a light blue that is an accent color as well!!!! I am really excited

10. 228 days til the wedding!!!!

Our wedding will be July 30th, 2011 at Crossroads Worship Center in Jacksonville, NC. The reception will be at Paradise Point Officers Club aboard Camp Lejeune (we'll have base passes available).
